Graduation

We all met at Allison's for dinner before graduation. Allie and Tim scheduled us a babysitter so we didn't have to take the kids.

She was number 47 out of 464!  The guys couldn't sit that long, they had to go get drinks for everyone instead of listening to the ceremony. (I guess I can't blame them.). I really liked the superintendent's speech. He wasn't afraid to make Religious comments, something that has to be done so carefully these days!!

Ron thought this guys mustache was pretty awesome! No idea who he was...

Waiting for Granddad!!

We finally got to granddad's house!! Nobody was home. They locked us out. We had to go around back and to get in. We hid the car in the garage and jumped in the pool until everyone got home!

Ron took the kids out again the next day too.

On the Road!

We hit the road!! Several roads had been closed because of flooding from all the rain. We were lucky the road we took was pretty flooded but we made it through!

South Dakota was SO green!! Actually everything was! It was a beautiful drive!!

We took an exit too soon.  Leave it to Ron...instead of turning around he just took the dirt road!

We saw some pretty interesting things!!
Like:
Upside down pivots!

And the destruction from the tornado that went through Moore, OK a couple weeks ago! (Dang slow camera! Maybe I can get a better picture on the way home.)  The aftermath was crazy! You could see right where it went through. All there was was ruble, on either side of that it was completely normal. You never would have known the tornado came through!

Payden was sooo happy when we got to the hotel and he could run and run and run!!

Landon drove us to breakfast in the morning!

We finally made it to Texas!! We survived the last 40 miles by rolling the windows down and the music up!

Planting the garden!

It rained and rain and rained. We had a hard time getting the garden in! Finally Tuesday night before we left for Texas we gave in. We went out layed our T-tape and planted everything. It was still only 48* and raining!!
And oh so muddy!!

Ron is clever though! We put out the T-tape, threw the seeds out next to it, then covered it it with potting soil!

Hopefully it survives a couple weeks on its own with us being gone now!!

Mom's going crazy!!

We were trying to get ready to leave for our trip to Texas for Dianna's graduation. Mom was going crazy with her mile long to-do list.

This is how the kids decided to help:

I thought I would hurry and whip some Mac and cheese up for the kids. Payden climbed up the bar stool onto the counter, knocked over my flowers, opened the box and Mac, scattered it across the kitchen floor along with what was left of the cereal!
Later, when I was tired of cleaning up mess after mess, I threw him in his bedroom. He can't hurt anything in there. Right?! WRONG! He got up on Landon's bed and tore off the new border off the walls!!

Not only did I have to sweep the kitchen a dozen times in the two days before we left I had to mop it a few times too!! The lid wasn't on the kool-aide tight when Landon pulled it out if the fridge. Then, he told me "that never happens like that! Watch!?" And dumped more on the floor to show me how it leaked!!

I mopped it again, but I think the floor was still sticky when we left!! ...

Eventually we got out of the house with everything cleaned and in the car!

The Good Ole Chevy!!

Ron used the old Chevy to get dirt for the garden from the truck yard in Ross. He got too much so we had to take it back along with all the tree limbs we trimmed from the backyard! The kids LOVED riding in the Chevy!!

Unfortunately the good ole Chevy wasn't a dump truck...no worries...Ron knows how to git 'er done!!

We haven't registered, licensed, or insured it here since it only sits in the garage, so we had to take the back roads.

It's was just like the old days!! Off roading it in the Chevy!! Except it was packed with carseats and kids instead of roommates!!

Piano Recital

I survived my first year teaching piano. It was a great experience! I never ever dreamed it would be something I would do...especially since I wont play in front of anyone. Anyone! (Not even my husband!!) But...I figured I could at least get them started! ...besides we're only going to be in North Dakota a couple years...right??? Then I'll have moving as an excuse to quit when they are better than I am! But, I really have loved it! These kids knew nothing when we got started in November. One went to piano festival and received a superior rating. And all 12 of them had 2 songs memorized for the recital...and they did great! After the recital we came back to our house and enjoyed Root beer floats!!

Unfortunately the only pictures I took are on my real camera...so I can only post the ones Ron took if me from his phone!! ...which explains the pictures!!
